My work gradually changes all the time without a lot of ‘intellectualising’, as long as I keep working the ideas keep coming. My previous experience as an etcher and textile designer seem to creep into the pictures more and more.
At the moment I’m working on some collages of Rochester Cathedral and waiting for a date in September when the ‘Canterbury Series’ is going to be displayed in the Gaol Museum. The ideas sort of materialise in picture form in my head and then I select or create new materials and then begin on the picture.
I spend much of my working time with a four year old grandaughter, Serafina, alongside who enjoys watching the process and creates her own pictures too. We recently acquired a lovely print of Harold Hitchcock’s and when Serafina saw it she said “Oh granny, that’s your best ever!!” eh bein!
