The Global Cultural Scene
IFACCA Newsletter – July 2022
Letter from Latifah Taormina
This is the latest issue of Acorns, a publication of the IFACCA, the International Federation of Arts Councils and Cultural Agencies. These are the people who influence public policy towards arts and culture in their respective countries.
What I found exciting in this current issue was the involvement of younger people and a sense that the expression of each country’s own culture was important. Bapak once said that when nations can express their own culture, that would be the beginning of true world peace. (see his Purnama talk in August 1984— given in Cilandak to two Japanese brothers. In that same talk, he also said technology was also culture.).
