For once in my life, I would

Take the time to listen,

I would put aside distractions

And concentrate on you.

I would sit very still

And stop the multi-tasking,

Ask the children to be quiet

And concentrate on you.

For once in my life, I would

Put down my suspicions,

Not assume the worst

And concentrate on you.

I would go back to the start

When I was only little

When all we had was love

And concentrate on you.

For once in your life

All I hear is deathly silence

And for once in my life

All I want to hear is you.
