Marianna Lassalle
Artistic approach
I am captivated by movement, the narrative that accompanies it, and the spaces in between that create energy, emotion, and matter. It is this fascination that has truly fueled the development of my personal work. Life is evolving very rapidly at the moment. There is a great expansion of consciousness and a greater understanding of energy and vibration, both in metaphysics and science—these two fields seem to be converging.
For me, Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity, E=MC² (“energy equals mass times the speed of light squared”), is being understood in a different way. I deeply embrace the idea that matter is energy, each carrying a vibration, whether we can hear it or not. In my understanding, emotions also carry this same energy, but on a different level.
It has occurred to me that a new language is emerging, without words, as people’s awareness of energy grows. I realise that thought and emotion create matter. Coming to a new understanding of this way of communicating creates a new way of being.
Developing a deeper awareness of how emotion and thought flow, and what they can become, is emerging both spiritually and metaphysically, as well as in science. These two spheres seem to be converging.
I’ve never been naturally gifted at expressing my ideas with words, but I’m more comfortable illustrating them visually through painting. This new language in the creative and spiritual realms is called by some the language of light. It expresses itself without words, but rather through the sensations it awakens in the body.
My artistic background: I graduated from college with a degree in performing arts, a combination of visual art and dance. There are three generations of artists in my family: my father and mother, as well as my paternal grandparents, Honor Gell and Henri Valensi (a distant grandfather whom my father, Leonard Lassalle, never knew and who passed away in 1960).
I have sold my work internationally and have exhibited in France, Spain, and England.
The paintings are not for sale, but high quality Gilcée prints are available.
